It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Amos Bairoch, creator of Swiss-Prot, PROSITE, ENZYME, Expasy, neXtProt and Cellosaurus, has passed away. Amos was a visionary who shaped the field of bioinformatics.

First released in 1989, PROSITE documents protein domains, families, and functional sites, along with the associated patterns and profiles used to identify them. Read about PROSITE in their latest paper here!
