Description:	Has an obligate parasitic lifestyle. Completely lacks a cell wall. It is only surrounded by a cytoplasmic membrane. The etiologic agent of primary atypical pneumonia can also cause sore throats and bronchitis. As a surface parasite, it attaches to the host's respiratory epithelium by means of a differentiated terminal structure, the attachment organelle.
