What's New in MSight 1.0
New MS-Runs data storage
The new internal file format ".ims" decreases strongly files size on the disk (from 10 to 40 times smaller than previous versions).
This performance is obtained by a new lossless compression algorithm which exploits redundancy in raw data to reduce files size without loosing any information.
New features for importing MS and MS/MS data
- Speed and memory requirements while importing your data were massively improved.
- A new import interface allows you to run conversion in parallel of your session work. It also allows you to:
- Choose sampling steps and preview imported MS data.
- Choose extraction regions into MS data.
- Choose sampling steps and extraction mass ranges for MS/MS data.
- Support for three new MS files format was added (mzData, t2d, fid).
- Support for MS/MS data import and management was introduced. Now MSight handles:
- MS/MS data included in mass spectrometers files.
- Results of MS/MS identifications made with Phenyx tool.
Navigation and useability improvements
-
Improved Mass Spectrum and Chromatogram reports simplify creation and navigation in the plots.
-
Measures and navigations actions (zoom, synchronisation between plot and image, ...) can now be done in a very simple way.
-
The redesigned 3D view offers a fairly improved tool for MS-Runs visualisation. 3D view images can be displayed side-by-side or in stack mode (with transparence mode and animation mode) allowing to perceive differences among images.
Interactions with 3D view are now based on mouse motion. With a simple move of mouse you can zoom in, zoom out, rotate, ... in a more intuitive way than in previous versions.
-
And much more:
- New interface for Sheet Layout Definition.
- New Measure Tool to easily measure distances between two points.
- New Auto-number type for user's annotation allowing you to quickly create labels containing unique number.
- Undo/Redo on workspace actions: Adding, deleting, moving, editing can easily be undone by a simple click.
- Orientation of the m/z axe is configurable.
