HAMAP: Synechococcus sp. (strain RCC307) complete proteome

General information

Species:  Synechococcus sp. (strain RCC307)
Species code: SYNR3
Taxonomy: Bacteria; Cyanobacteria; Chroococcales; Synechococcus (TaxID: 316278) [NEWT/ NCBI]
Description: Marine Synechococcus and Prochlorococcus are the most abundant photosynthetic organisms on earth and between them account for about half of the world's photosynthesis. RCC307 is an oceanic Synechococcus strain which presents great phylogenetic interest because trees obtained using its 16S RNA gene seem to indicate that it is rooted at the base of the radiation of marine cyanobacteria (adapted from http://www.genoscope.fr/externe/English/Projets/Projet_HP/organisme_HP.html).
Properties: Presence of flagella: No
Interaction: No
Number of membranes: 2
Number of inteins:0
Statistics: Number of SYNR3 entries in the UniProt Knowledgebase: 2528 (260 in UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot + 2268 in UniProtKB/TrEMBL)
