| HAMAP: Legionella pneumophila (strain Lens) complete proteome |
| Species code: | LEGPL |
| Taxonomy: | Bacteria; Proteobacteria; Gammaproteobacteria; Legionellales; Legionellaceae; Legionella (TaxID: 297245) [NEWT/ NCBI] |
| Description: | Legionella pneumophila is the causative agent of the Legionnaires' disease, a potential fatal pneumonia. It was isolated after an outbreak of pneumonia at an American legion convention in Philadelphia. Legionella pneumophila is found in biofilms and fresh and industrial water systems worldwide.
