| HAMAP: Dehalococcoides sp. (strain CBDB1) complete proteome |
| Species code: | DEHSC |
| Taxonomy: | Bacteria; Chloroflexi; Dehalococcoidetes; Dehalococcoides (TaxID: 255470) [NEWT/ NCBI] |
| Description: | Dehalococcoides species are strictly aerobic bacteria that catabolize several of the most toxic and persistent chlorinated aromatics and aliphatics by reductive dechlorination and are used for in situ bioremedation of contaminated sites. Dehalococcoides (strain CBDB1) is able to dechlorine 1,2,3-trichlorobenzene, 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene, 2,3-dichloro-p-dibenzodioxin and the "Seveso toxin" 2,3,7,8-tetrachloro-p-dibenzodioxin. It has 32 genes homologous to reductive dehalogenases. |
