- The enzyme from Escherichia coli can also use ATP, CTP, GTP and UTP
as a substrate in vitro.
- The corresponding mononucleotides are transferred to a serine of the
acyl carrier protein of citrate lyase with release of diphosphate.
- The linkage to serine is via a phosphodiester bond.
