| Official Name |
| Hydroxylamine oxidoreductase.
|
| Reaction catalysed |
| Hydroxylamine + NH(3) + acceptor <=> N(2) + H(2)O + reduced acceptor |
| Comment(s) |
- The enzyme from anammox bacteria is inhibited by phosphate, oxygen
and high nitrite concentrations and is also capable of reducing NO to
N(2)O.
- Ferricyanide, phenazine methosulfate and methylthiazolyltetrazolium
bromide can act as acceptors in this 4-electron transfer reaction.
